District Heights and Surrounding Communities

We are very fortunate to have a wide variety of parks and playgrounds in the surrounding District Heights area. So, I compiled a guide below of parks, playgrounds, and trails in the following zip codes: 20743, 20746, 20747, and 20785. I'd love to hear your reviews of these places and see your pictures. Walker Mill Regional Park

8001 Walker Mill Road, Capitol Heights, MD 20747

Walker Mill Regional Park includes more than 500 acres of land, a portion of which has been developed for recreational uses.

Trails

Suitland Bog

6000 Block Suitland Rd, Suitland, MD 20747

This bog is a unique wetland within the Washington Metropolitan Area. It hosts a variety of carnivorous plants as well as many plants that are on the Maryland Natural Heritage Programs “Rare, Threatened, and Endangered Plants of Maryland” list.

Rollins Avenue Dog Park

701 Rollins Avenue, Capitol Heights, MD 20743

  • 12,000 square foot fenced area
  • Artificial turf surfacing manufactured exclusively for dog parks
  • Drinking fountain, benches, tables, and shade trees
  • Shallow concrete “lazy river” trough for water play
